Funkwerk on the Intertraffic 2012 in Amsterdam

Fuerth, 20.03.2012 - With 25.000 visitors in 2010 from all around the world the Intertraffic Amsterdam strengthened its reputation as leading and most important fair trade regarding traffic and transport. This year, from the 27th to the 30th of March, over 800 exhibitors will provide a broad insight into the latest trends and developments of this line of business. Being a part of this event: the video specialist with long-standing experience Funkwerk.

Funkwerk has been installing complex video surveillance systems for safeguarding heavily frequented tunnel facilities across Europe for decades. The German supplier of high-end safety equipment does currently prove its expertise gathered through this in several places. As for instance, Funkwerk has been enhancing the video system in the Hamburg Elbe river tunnel. More than 100 newly installed cameras will improve safety in the tubes and in the escape tunnels until 2012.

Besides tunnel monitoring, Funkwerk has been able to gain excellent reputation in the areas of video-based traffic control and analysis too. Funkwerk components are used in critical motorway sections for traffic observation and for releasing hard shoulders manually for more than 15 years. By applying the innovative software „Argoscan - hard shoulder release“ (a worldwide unique solution for releasing temporarily additional lanes on motorways with the help of multistatic video detection), traffic is now running during rush hours and other bottlenecks too without the necessity of investing in extensive and expensive infrastructure like additional lanes. Funkwerk has the perfect solution ready even for the general traffic observation. „Argoscan - traffic analysis“ makes a quick and safe detection of ghost drivers, stalled vehicles or tailbacks possible.

Funkwerk solutions attain optimum functionality and many years of investment protection among other things by using high-precision pan/tilt units of the PLATON type. High-grade workmanship, robust design, and a fully developed technology guarantee functionality for many years even under extreme conditions as it is normal with traffic and tunnel monitoring.
