Funkwerk plettac streamlines video monitoring system at the Unterweser nuclear power plant  

Funkwerk plettac, the long-established company based in Fuerth (Bavaria), installs video system for the nuclear power plant in Unterweser – digital network concept of lasting conviction – Video management system p.o.s.a. called into action

Fuerth, 29.02.2012 - End of 2011 Funkwerk plettac electronic, German manufacturer of high-end security solutions, successfully finalized modernization of the video monitoring system at the Unterweser nuclear power plant. The standing customer decided in favor of a modular video server system based on digital network technology with full redundancy of all digital components. “Taken as a whole, the comprehensive modernization project at the Unterweser power plant took almost 3 years”, explains Norbert Meissner, Funkwerk plettac CEO. “Our digital network concept and full redundancy of all digital components tipped the scales for the award of this sophisticated project.”

Tamper-proof and future-proof system

The core of the system is the Funkwerk video management system p.o.s.a. (plettac open security architecture). This well-proven internal development allows full control and monitoring of the video system. Export of recordings suitable as evidence in court and increased protection against fraudulent manipulation are some of the major advantages of the p.o.s.a. system. Currently the system is bundling video signals from fixed and pan/tilt cameras whereupon the outstanding future-proof structure allows subsequent extension at any later stage. Visualization at the control room is realized at several operator stations with, amongst others, 56“TFT large-format monitors.
